Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Deep Golf handles information when you play the web version or Discord Activity version of the game.
1. Summary
Deep Golf does not collect account registration details, payment information, precise location, contacts, messages, or player-created content. If you play through Discord and submit a leaderboard score, the game stores limited Discord account and gameplay information needed to show the leaderboard.
2. Information We May Receive
Depending on how you access the game, limited technical information may be processed to make the game work:
- Basic device and browser information, such as browser type, operating system, and screen size.
- Technical request information handled by the hosting provider, such as IP address, timestamps, requested files, and error logs.
- Basic Discord Activity context if the game is launched through Discord, such as information Discord provides to display or run the Activity.
- Discord account information returned by Discord's identify permission, such as your Discord user ID, username, global display name, discriminator, and avatar identifier.
- Leaderboard information, such as your best completion time, stage, rank, display name, Discord user ID, and the time the leaderboard entry was updated.
- Discord OAuth access tokens may be processed temporarily to verify your identity when submitting or reading leaderboard data. The game does not intentionally store Discord access tokens in the leaderboard database.
- Gameplay state stored locally by your browser or by the Unity WebGL runtime, if the game uses browser storage.
3. Information We Do Not Currently Collect
The current version does not intentionally collect:
- Real names, postal addresses, or phone numbers.
- Payment card or billing information.
- Precise GPS location.
- Voice, video, contacts, private messages, or Discord chat content.
- Analytics profiles for advertising or cross-site tracking.
4. How Information Is Used
Limited technical information may be used to host the game, load game files, maintain security, debug errors, prevent abuse, and comply with platform or legal requirements. Leaderboard information is used to save your personal best time, show rankings, identify your own rank, and reduce fraudulent score submissions.
5. Discord
If you launch the game as a Discord Activity, Discord may process information according to its own privacy policy and platform rules. This game uses Discord's Embedded App SDK and OAuth identify permission to verify your Discord user ID for leaderboard submissions. This game does not control Discord's processing of Discord account data.
6. Hosting and Leaderboard Providers
The game may be hosted on Vercel or another hosting provider. The hosting provider may process standard server logs and technical request information needed to deliver the game over the web. Leaderboard data may be stored with Upstash Redis or another database provider used to operate the leaderboard.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
The game does not intentionally use advertising cookies. Unity WebGL or the browser may use local storage, IndexedDB, cache storage, or similar browser storage to load assets, store preferences, or keep local gameplay state. You can clear this data through your browser settings.
8. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. Limited technical and leaderboard information may be processed by service providers such as hosting platforms, database providers, infrastructure providers, Discord, or security tools when needed to operate the game.
9. Children's Privacy
The game is not directed to children under the minimum age required by Discord or by the laws in your location. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us so the issue can be reviewed.
10. Data Retention
Leaderboard entries may be kept for as long as the leaderboard feature is available, unless they are deleted, reset, or removal is requested and can reasonably be completed. Technical logs retained by hosting providers, database providers, or platforms are subject to their own retention practices.
11. Your Choices
You can stop using the game at any time. You can clear local game data through your browser settings. If using the Discord Activity, you can manage app permissions and Discord data through Discord. To request removal of a leaderboard entry associated with your Discord account, contact us using the email below and include enough information to identify the entry.
12. Future Features
If features such as additional account systems, multiplayer, analytics, payments, or user-generated content are added, this Privacy Policy should be updated before those features are made available.
13. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the latest version took effect.
